This years Track & Field Regional competition will be held at Waukesha North High

School.  All Competing schools should have received their WIAA Tournament

information in the past week.  If you have not, contact your Athletic Director or the

WIAA.  Please read all of the information that has been provided  in your Spring Edition

of rules and regulations.  We will be following the WIAA tournament series guidelines.

To better ensure that this competition will run smoothly we would like to point out some

important guidelines:

1.         No team, spectator, or coach parking is allowed behind North High School.  All

parking will be in the front parking lots.

2.         North field house will be available for warm-ups after 3:00 pm.  If we run into bad

weather we will contest the pole vault indoors.

3.         Field events will begin at 3:30 PM and Running events will begin at 4:15 PM.

Please refer to the WIAA REGIONAL & SECTIONAL Info packet for order of

events and procedures.

2:30 PM up in the press box area.

5.         All shot puts and discuses must be weighed in by 3:10 PM.  All light or illegal

implements will be quarantined until the completion of those events.  Weigh-ins

will be in the garage at the entrance of the stadium.

6.         Field Events:  Boys discus will be completed first and girls shot first.  Triple jump

for boys and long jump for girls will be first to competition with long & triple jump

to follow.  In the shot put and discus we will run flights with 10 minutes between

flights.  The long and triple jumps will use flights.   There will be 10 minute time

between flights.  In all four events, the top nine performers from trials will

advance to the finals.  There will be a 10 minute warm-up between trials and

finals.  There will be a 20 minute general warm-up period allowed between the

shot/discus and long/triple.  An additional 10 minute period will be allowed for the

first flights. Three throws and jumps in trials and three throws and jumps in finals.

8.         Waukesha North has an all weather track that will accept 1/4” spikes.  This

includes pole vault, high jump and long/triple jump runways.

9.         For exchanges only tape will be allowed, no chalk.  No markings will be allowed

on the runways for the long/triple jump and pole vault.  All markings must be

made on the side.  In the high jump, tape will be allowed on the apron.

PLEASE REMOVE ALL TAPE!

10.       There is no need for relay cards since you have entered your runners on your

regional sheets.

11.       The Pole Vault and High Jump will run both boys and girls and the same time at

different pits. We will keep a five alive format in the high jump and pole vault.

exit the area.

We hope that these points will make for better meet management.  We are anticipating

great competition and fantastic weather.  If you have any questions please contact us.
